- Beary Birthday -

I made another card for the MFT stamps annual Card Design Superstar contest

This time my card is for the category "Innovation Master": 

From the outside the card looks like an ordinary card: The polar bear is skating on the pond, wishing a beary good birthday:

When you open it, three more polar bears appear waving hi:

I stamped the bears and the bucket with the fishes on watercolor paper and coloured them with ZIG clean color real brush markers. Then I used the matching dies for the cutting out.The icea floe is stamped directly onto the inner card base and is slightly colored with a pale blue. Then I stamped the sentiments onto the floe and added the little hearts. They were punched from watercolor paper and colored with a ZIG marker in the same red as the scarf of the bear in the middle. For the clouds I used a distress oxide ink.

For this card I used the stamp sets "Polar Bear Pals" and "Cool Day" for the images as well as the sentiments stamped in the clouds. The sentiments on the ice floe are from the set "Bitty Bears". The clouds are made with the stencil "Mini Cloud Edges" and the little punched hearts are from the Die-namics "LLD Bundle of Baby Clothes". To make the three bears "pop up" I used the die-namics "Pop-up elements narrow" and attached the bears to them.

Once the card was finished, I gave the "icy areas", i.e. the pond on the front and the ice floes a "frosty and icy" look by painting with Wink of Stella Clear over those parts.

I kept the card rather simple, i.e. no additional embellishments, because I want to put the main focus on the "beary scene".

- Clean and Simple -

"Clean and Simple" is a stamping style that I use quite often because it puts the focus on the stamped image and I like that very much.

At present, MFT stamps has on its blog the annual Card Design Superstar contest

and there are three categories in this contest. One of them is the "Clean and Simple Genius" and I made the following card for this category:

For the card I used the stamp set "Happy Hedgehogs" for the main images and the sentiment. The little heart is from the stamp set "Bitty Bears". I coloured the images with ZIG clean color real brush markers and by hand I drew the frame with a black marker.

- Urlaub an der Mecklenburgischen Seenplatte -

Dieses Jahr haben wir die Mecklenburgischen Seenplatte als Urlaubsziel ausgesucht. Als wir vor ein paar Jahren auf Rügen waren, haben wir auf dem Weg dorthin diese schöne Gegend "im Vorbeifahren gestreift" und uns damals vorgenommen, einmal dort Urlaub zu machen.

Nun war es also so weit. Wir haben eine Ferienwohnung gemietet und von dort aus Ausflüge in die nähere und weitere Umgebung gemacht. Die Gegend ist wirklich wunderschön, es hat viele schöne Städte, natürlich zahlreiche Seen und Wälder und die Mecklenburgische Seenplatte ist auf alle Fälle eine Reise wert.

... und der Schlossgarten

Am Krakower See haben wir einen langen Spaziergang gemacht und sind dann noch auf einen Turm (rechts am Bildrand zu sehen) gestiegen, um den Ausblick von oben zu geniessen. 

Zum Abschluss stand auch noch die schöne Stadt Wismar auf unserem Programm:

In der Kirche St. Nikolai konnten wir an einer Gewölbeführung teilnehmen, diese war sehr interessant.

Wir hatten uns eigentlich nicht zuletzt für dieses Urlaubsziel entschieden, weil wir gedacht haben, wenn wir Richtung Norden fahren, dann ist es bestimmt nicht so heiss. Wir haben auf für uns angenehme 20°C - maximal 25°C gehofft (so wie wir es letztes Jahr im August/September in Dänemark hatten).
Aber Irren ist menschlich *grins*, denn wir hatten durchschnittlich 10°C mehr, d.h. es war im diesjährigen Urlaub fast genau so heiss wie vorher bei uns in der Schweiz. Aber dafür konnten wir uns abends nach den z.T. etwas ermüdenden Städtebesichtigungen auf dem Balkon entspannen und erholen.

Alles in allem haben wir schöne und auch erholsame Urlaubstage in einer wunderschönen Gegend verbracht und ich würde gerne ein anderes Mal wieder dort Urlaub machen.

- Ein blumiges Hallo... -

...gibt es in Form dieser Karte:

Ich habe den Stempel mit Versamark gestempelt und weiss embosst. Weiss auf weiss war für mich eine echte Herausforderung *lach*, um die Blüten zu erkennen, aber ich habe es dann doch geschafft, sie zu colorieren.

Die Blüten habe ich dann noch zum Glitzern gebracht, vielleicht kann man den Schimmer auf diesem Foto ein bisschen erkennen:
